THIS IS JUST TO SAY I have eaten the plums that were in the icebox And which you were probably saving for breakfast Forgive me they were delicious so sweet and so cold

WILLIAM CARLOS WILLIAMS Williams thought that what a poem had “to say” did not have to be about grand feelings or major events, but could be about the moments of ordinary, everyday life. He left this message to his wife.

SORRY I don’t get straight A’s I drink out of the carton I’m always late I lie on occasions I ditch class I party on the weekend I act like a 5 year old I take my sister’s clothes I don’t tie my shoes I am messy I didn’t do my laundry I forgot to make my bed again I eat candy for breakfast I disappoint people because I’m lazy Sorry. But not entirely. - Sara

THE DOG IN THE GARDEN My dog destroyed the flowers in the beautiful garden, All because of me, I wasn’t watching. Forgive me. I used the time wisely playing video games. - Jacob

PANCAKE THIEF Forgive me For stealing Your pancakes I sneaked over While you were gone I stole them so quickly Eating them even faster So warm and soft Your pancakes were Filled with butter and syrup Delicious -Conner

I’M SORRY … I’m sorry for calling you horrid names but everyone else was telling me to, and I didn’t want my reputation crushed by hanging out with you. So please forgive me. I honestly didn’t mean to call you names. - Jacob

MAKE A LIST … Make a list of fife things that you want to apologize for. What did you do that you felt sorry for? Did someone else get blamed for something you did? Next to each item, write down the name or names of the person you are writing this to
