1. For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6, 7

2. (7) Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness Isaiah 9:6, 7

3. from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this. Isaiah 9:6, 7

4. The Jews knew that a King would come and deliver them, but Jesus did not fit their WORLD VIEW.

5. How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!” Isaiah 52:7-10

6. (8) Listen! Your watchmen lift up their voices; together they shout for joy. When the LORD returns to Zion, they will see it with their own eyes. (9) Burst into songs of joy together, you ruin of Jerusalem, Isaiah 52:7-10

7. for the LORD has comforted his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem. (10) The LORD will lay bare his holy arm in the sight of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God. Isaiah 52:7-10

8. In the MIND of most Jews, the new “takeover” was going to look just like what had HAPPENED in the past.

9. But Moses said to God, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” (12) And God said, “I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you Exodus 3:11, 12

10. that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.” Exodus 3:11, 12

11. The animals you choose must be year-old males without defect, and you may take them from the sheep or the goats. (6) Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month, when all the people Exodus 12: 5-7

12. of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight. (7) Then they are to take some of the blood and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the lambs. Exodus 12:5-7

13. In all the travels of the Israelites, whenever the cloud lifted from above the tabernacle, they would set out; (37) but if the cloud did not lift, they did not set out—until the day it lifted. Exodus 40:36-38

14. (38) So the cloud of the LORD was over the tabernacle by day, and fire was in the cloud by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel during all their travels. Exodus 40:36-38

15. Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. Luke 2:25-32

16. (26) It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. (27) Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. Luke 2:25-32

17. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the custom of the Law required, (28) Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying: (29) “Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, Luke 2:25-32

18. you now dismiss your servant in peace. (30) For my eyes have seen your salvation, (31) which you have prepared in the sight of all people, (32) a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel.” Luke 2:25-32

19. God had a better plan for how His Kingdom was going to OPERATE and who was going to be His King.

20. But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. Matthew 12:28
