Homework and Projects Homework Your student will be expected to read a minimum of 20 minutes during the weekday. Research shows that students who read perform better on tests, are better writers, and higher-level thinkers. It makes sense to read. Reading will be tracked on his/her daily planner. Also, look for a quick homework sheet each night to reinforce the skills taught at school. I expect homework to be turned in on time!!! I will accept late homework up to a week after it is due, but 10% of the points will be deducted for every day it is late. --Projects—Watch for the following projects: Monthly Book Reports President Biography and Stamp Reports—Science and Social Studies Are You a Patriot? If you have a reading book that you have started, bring it to school. Currently, we do not have a classroom library; it is a work in progress. Also, we will not have an opportunity to go to the library the first week of school as a class. You may have to make a visit there before or after school to check out a book. Everyone needs a silent reading book, so please do what you can to get one.
