Sept. 20082 MCH Epidemiology: 2000-2007 –The number of registrants at the MCH epidemiology conference grew from 400 to 533. –Number of presentations, trainings and meetings at the MCH epidemiology conference have grown. –The number of CDC/HRSA MCH epidemiology state assignees grew from one (in 1987) to twelve.

Sept. 20083 MCH Epidemiology: 2000-2007 –MCH epidemiology had the second greatest increase in state-based epidemiologists (after bioterrorism) –The number increased from 106 to 171. –The percent of states able to provide substantial to full capacity in MCH epidemiology increased from 35% (in 2001) to 52% (in 2006).

4. Sept. 20084 MCH Epidemiology: 2000-2008 –Almost 350 people have been trained in epidemiology methods through the HRSA/CDC course in MCH epidemiology. (Next year’s class will be in Tampa, FL from May 17-21). –Another 400-600 have received the AMCHP two day trainings before the MCH Epidemiology Conference.

5. Sept. 20085 MCH Epidemiology: 2000-2007 –The number of submissions to the MCH Journal has increased from 74 to 200.
