FAFSA Complete a FAFSA as soon as possible –Awarded Eligible Federal Grants and Loans If you took advantage of Federal aid at an institution in the Fall 2008 semester/quarter, you may have used part of your total aid eligibility for the academic year –Send Miami your 2008-2009 FAFSA if you have already completed one Miami’s School Code is 003077 We’ll use the date you initially filed a 2008-2009 FAFSA

University Scholarships Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship –Must provide documentation of affiliation (copy of membership card) –$2,500 per year $1250 for Spring 2009 if you are eligible Renewable with a 3.0 cumulative GPA

Scholarships (cont.) Miami Transfer Scholarship –Requires a 3.5 GPA on 12 transfer hours –Expected Family Contribution (EFC) from FASFA results must be $20,000 or less –$2000 per year $1000 for Spring 2009 if you are eligible Renewable with a 3.0 cumulative GPA

Scholarships (cont.) Oxford Scholars –No scholarship application required –Students with a 29 ACT or 1280 SAT score and graduated in the top 10% of high school class –$1000 for the year $500 for Spring 2009 if you are eligible Renewable with a 3.2 cumulative GPA

Working on Campus Finding a Job –www.muohio.edu/studentjobswww.muohio.edu/studentjobs Required Documents for Employment –a U.S. Passport or –a picture ID (i.e. driver’s license) and an original social security card or original/certified copy of your birth certificate

When Will I Hear if I Qualify for Aid? You must apply for admission and be admitted before you will receive an award letter from the Office of Student Financial Assistance (SFA) SFA will send out transfer student award letters on a continual basis The sooner you apply for aid, the sooner you will know what are you will be eligible to receive

Thinking ahead…. 09/10 Academic Year File the 2009-2010 renewal FAFSA by our priority deadline of March 15, 2009 to be considered for the most aid Returning Student Scholarship Application –Available November 2009 –Due March 15, 2010 Study Abroad Airfare Grant $600 grant towards airfare for a semester study abroad program
