5. Hours: Monday – Thursday 7:30A.M. – 9:00 P.M. Friday 7:30A.M. – 3:30 P.M. Between quarters: Reduced hours or closed. Check signs for schedule. Check out books at least 10 minutes prior to closing. All computers are shut down 10 minutes before closing.

6. Please… No Cell Phones or Pagers in the Library No Food or Drink will be allowed in the Library Children are not permitted in the Library

7. Checking out books & material from the Library Students must have their Student ID’s to check out books or other library material. Most material can be checked out for 2 weeks. Items that are not on Hold can be renewed for an additional week.

8. Videos Video viewing- Videos may be viewed by students in the library. The library has four video viewing stations. Videos may be in VHS or DVD format.

9. Returns: Items may be returned to staff members at the circulation desk, in the book drop located in the center of the front desk, or to the book drop which is located to the left of the A-building entrance.

10. Fines & Holds: Overdue fines for students are $.10 a day per book checked out. $1.00 for videos Failure to return books or other library materials acquired will result in a “Hold” being placed on the student’s BannerWeb account until payment is made.

11. The Copy Machine: All copies are $.10 a page. The copier is located adjacent to the book stacks & near the circulation desk. To operate, students must buy a copy card from the bookstore. Each card costs $1.25. The copy card is a debit card. Value can be added to the card at initial purchase or later.

12. Computers: 41 Galileo/Internet work stations with access to full-text journal articles and more are available. Please bring your own flash drives to save your work. Please bring your own headphones for the computers. Access to student e-mail is available.

13. Printing: School related work is free to current MGTC students, personal copies are $.10 each. Currently enrolled students may print one (1) copy of a resume. Additional copies are $.10 each. All others must pay $.10 per copy. Select appropriate printer and give command only once. For help with printing, please ask a staff member.

14. Book Collection: Over 23,000 book volumes are available. More than 57,000 additional Electronic Books can be accessed through NetLibrary on GALILEO. Reference books are for use only in the Library; they cannot be checked out, but copies of pages can be made.

15. Services & Resources: We subscribe to many journals, magazines, & newspapers. The current year is located under the newest issue on the shelf. Please ask for assistance if additional issues are needed We also offer Interlibrary Loan service. Items may be borrowed from other Libraries on your behalf. It may take up to two weeks for items to arrive, but most loans arrive sooner. See the Library website or ask library staff for additional information.

16. PAC: Patron Access Catalog http://library.middlegatech.edu/ You can also use this address to access the Library catalog from off campus. The online Library catalog allows you to search for items by title, author, subject, and keyword. Online Library Catalog

17. GALILEO Georgia’s Virtual Library GALILEOGALILEO: State of Georgia virtual library system providing comprehensive access to academic and research materials online. GALILEOGALILEO is available on campus and off campus. A password is required for off campus access. The current password must be entered in all lowercase characters.
