1 11-3 Maudsley Personality Inventory Questions 1-6 measure Neuroticism (emotional stability/instability) – Answering “Yes” to most indicates more emotionally unstable. Questions 7-12 measure Extraversion – Answering “Yes” to most indicates more extraverted.

2 Handout 10-5 – Cheek and Buss Scale Tests for Shyness Reverse scores for items 3, 6, 9, 12 (5=1, 4=2, 3=3, 2=4, 1=5) Add your scores together. Score Range: 14-70 (mean 36) Higher Score indicates higher tendency toward shyness.
