Available to undergraduate students and apprentices (whilst they study). Membership is free for those students studying a relevant degree and for apprentices. Affiliate Membership

Improving the world through engineeringwww.imeche.orgImproving the world through engineeringwww.imeche.org 3 Associate Membership Is for any graduate with an accredited degree in engineering or a STEM subject (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). If the degree is not accredited, the academic qualifications will be reviewed. This is free.

IMechE membership is aligned with professional registration. Professional registration is for Engineering Technician, Incorporated or Chartered Engineer. (Professional registration with the Engineering Council). A Professional Review Interview will be conducted to ascertain the applicant can demonstrate that they have acquired the relevant competences through their initial professional development.

Existing Corporate Members who are upgrading to Fellow will be assessed on: 5 Essential qualities Significant autonomy Promotion of engineering Leadership Involvement in policy and strategy making decisions Structured approach to CPD

Improving the world through engineeringwww.imeche.orgImproving the world through engineeringwww.imeche.org 8 Academic Alternatives CLA – (Career Learning Assessment), a review as to whether retrospective career based learning achieved can equate to Masters level requirement Further Learning – for those wishing to upgrade within grades of membership and/or registration; review and advice on a forward development plan to create learning equating to the Masters level requirement
