Misleading Advertising
2
The Truth, whole Truth and nothing but the Truth An advertisement must not mislead the public as it may cause harm, for example sugar free items have to be sugar free. A retailer or advertisement may not make statements which they know to be false. Items said to be made in a country must have been made in that country.

What can we do
4
How to stop false advertising If the wrong price is in the window, it can be reported to the Director of Consumer Affairs, but the customer is not entitled to buy at the wrong price!
5
Facts These laws also apply to the Internet, so be wary! The price in the shop window or on the internet is called an invitation to treat and is thus interpreted as the shopkeeper inviting the customer to make an offer to buy the goods in question at that price mentioned.
6
Be careful! False advertising could lead to you losing money, so try to watch out. The Consumer Information Act 1978 was set up to help you to not be fooled by false advertising and not to be scammed.
