Local Application Sub watershed model can be used at the field level to obtain grants based on concrete data. Difference between restoration and protection areas of the state. Planning is adaptable on a regional, county or watershed basis across county boundaries. (1W1P) Makes water plans consistent at the planning level, and flexible at the local level. Allows for priority protection planning and links into WRAPS. The local Resource Professional can understand, plan, and implement at their level.

Bold Initiative: 18% of the counties are utilizing the sub watershed model as a grant or water plan strategy. BWSR recognizes this sub watershed tool for SWCD grant requests. An increase in Legacy funding toward the North Central region. Strategically leverage federal dollars for the North Central region. To add value and bring implementation resources to North Central MN

What can I do? Synergy- Be United as County Commissioners Work with our State agency leads and local legislators to increase resources for the North Central region. Work with the MHB on a coordinated effort so that the Mississippi resources can be vigilant.- Not a few partners, but many.
