Armor of God EPHESIANS 6:13-19
2
The Armor piece by piece

The Girth of Truth Ephesians 6: 14 "Stand therefore. having your loins girt about with truth" What is a girth? The girth goes around your waist area, you know, usually where you put your belt What does the girth of truth do? The girth of truth allows you to be honest, it keeps you from lying, and lying goes against the 10th Commandment

The Breastplate of Righteousness Ephesians 6:14 "and having put on the breastplate of righteousness" What is the purpose of a breatplate? A breastplate protects the chest area, which covers the most important organ, the heart. So the breastplate of Righteousness calls for you to possess a heart of Righteousness. Righteousness can be defined as an obedience to God, cover your heart with obedience to God Php 3:9 (NRS)...Not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but one that comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God based on faith.

The Gospel of Peace These are not Iron Man's real shoes, but for the sake of this Sermon we will use them!! Ephesians 6:15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In a Real Life sense: The shoes that soldiers wear allow them to step anywhere, and not worry about anything on the ground like debris, or stones, or any type of fecal matter, along with such it allows the soldier to focus on the battle. In a Spiritual sense The Gospel of Peace, or the Good News of Peace, allows the children of God not to be distracted by anything that is in there way, rather the Gospels allow the Soldier to focus on the battle, and how to become a conqueror, and the Gospels we refer to are: the Gospel of the Kingdom (Matthew 4:23), the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Mark 1:1), and The Gospel of the Grace of God (Acts 20:24)

The Shield of Faith Iron Man does not have a shield, so his right glove is like his shield Ephesians 6:16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; What's with the Shield of Faith? When a soldier goes out to battle he knows that his enemy has weapons, some great, and some small, so he must equip himself with a protector, something that when weapons are thrown at him, he can put it up to protect himself. Faith is our shield, because our faith in Christ allows us to be indestructable, faith in the power of Christ, and his authority, and the authority he puts in you allows you to be stronger than anything Satan throws at you!! Isiah 54:17 "No weapon formed against me shall prosper"

Helmet of Salvation Ephesians 6:17 and take the helmet of salvation, Helmet, what's the deal? The word salvation is defined as being saved, or protection from harm. The helmet of the soldier protects his eyes, ears, mouth, and nose (head, shoulders. knees, and toes, knees and toes, oops sorry back to the sermon), it also protects his brain. In a Spiritual Sense The Helmet of Salvation protects the child of God from anything Satan throws at us, and it allows us to see clearly, sometimes we can get distracted by what we see, and we get deceived by the physical beauty of things, and that's when Satan throws all he's got. It also protects our minds, and keeps us from being distracted by things of this world. 1 Corinthians 2:16 " have the mind of Christ"

Sword of the Spirit Again, no sword, so his left glove is like his sword, I am starting to doubt the reliability of this analogy Ephesians 6:17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, The Sword, Sharp as Sugar! Everybody knows why we use a sword, to protect ourselves, and the Sword in the Armor of God is the Word of God. The Bible says in Hebrews 4:12 "sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit". By using the Word of God, by proclaiming what God has said, you tap into a supernatural power that unleashes blessings, and favor. By using the word of God, you can slay your enemies, and proclaim victory in Jesus. When Satan Tempts You: Greater is he that is in me, than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4) When Deceit Arises: Bread gained by deceit is sweet to a man, but afterward his mouth will be full of gravel.(Proverbs 20:17)

The Power of Prayer I didn't know what to use, so here are Iron Man's hands praying. :) Ephesians 6:18: praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. Sweet hour of Prayer! Prayer allows us to become closer to God, when we pray to God we acknowledge things, our wants, our faults, our desires, and when we acknowledge them, and give them to God, we open up the door for God to work. Matthew 21:22 And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”

Now go ahead, and put on your armor; never leave the house without it!!!!
