2. 94.7 ANIMAL RIDE Bring your bike and come and join us for a 94.7 Animal Ride on 21 November 2010. What’s it about? We are riding the 2010 94.7 race dressed up as ANIMALS to raise some funds for the Edenvale S.P.C.A.

3. How does this work? Bring, beg, borrow or steal a bike and come a ride (definitely not race) the 94.7 cycle on 21 November. All you do is get yourselves entered into the race before 24 September at www.cyclechallenge.co.za Dress like a animal and come and ride with us in a group. We will start in the back open groups and the pace will be very sedate with many stops and interaction with the crowds.www.cyclechallenge.co.za

The fundraising bit works through getting people to Sponsor you per km on pledge lists, if you don’t want to get involved in the fundraising part it no problem, just do the ride and have a fun day. But dressing like a animal is a requirement ! If you are not a regular cyclist the ride is still very doable with a basic running fitness base. Some long rides before race day are highly recommended!

5. General Arrangements You need to enter on your own and the cost of entry is for your account No Helmets no Ride and you have to adhere to the rules of the race, available on the website when you enter, they do not have a problem with people dressing up etc. but your bike must be in good condition and road worthy. You need to use the best quality Helmet you can lay your hands on, don’t skimp on this, what is your brain worth to you? Make sure you do a test run on the bike with your outfit, in particular make sure that there are not any loose bits that can get caught in the mechanics of the bike. The fast riders go off early in the morning in the seeded groups, our group will start in the late open groups and ride together at a slow pace. The race rules allow you to start in a later seeding than the one allocated to you. It would be advisable to carry a cell phone on you or to stick with someone that has a phone. There are sweeping vehicles that you can bail into in case of mechanical/medical problems. Your race number must be clearly displayed on your LOWER back There are lots of water points on route but you need to carry hydration on the bike. Pledge list will be sent to you closer to the time, as mentioned the fundraising bit is optional, if you are not keen on that it is not a problem. All funds raised to be deposited directly into the Edenvale S.P.C.A. bank account.
