Guard the Trust Many banks and foundations have a “trust dept.” or “trust fund” to care for the assets of others God has given us several sacred trusts (deposits) Our attitude should be one of “guarding the trust” at all cost (1 Tim. 6:20; 2 Tim. 1:12,14) “Committed” is from paratheke meaning a deposit, a trust, or a thing consigned to one's faithful keeping, to be held firmly and faithfully

Sacred Trusts Trusts Involving Self… Our time (Psa. 90:12; Eph. 5:16; Col. 4:5) Our talents (Mt. 25:14-30) Our soul & body (Eccl. 12:7; Zech. 12:1; Heb. 12:9)

Sacred Trusts Trusts Involving Others… Our marriage (Gen. 2:18; Prov. 18:22; 19:14) Our children (Psa. 127:3; Prov. 22:6; 29:15; Eph. 6:4; Tit. 2:4) The brethren (Ac. 20:28; Heb. 13:17; 1 Pet. 5:2) The gospel (2 Tim. 1:14; 2:2 contains the verb)

Guard the Trust A trust teaches us the surpassing value what is put in trust. The trust is worth whatever it takes to guard it. A trust teaches us the identity of the possessor (God) who places the trust. Nobody has a right to alter what God places in trust. A trust teaches us the sacred, solemn, and serious charge of guarding it.

Guard the Trust We betray God’s trust when we fail to guard our time, talents, and soul & body We betray God’s trust when we fail to guard our marriage, children, the brethren, and the gospel Brethren, guard the trust!
