5 Authoritarian Leadership Style Subordinates are told what to do, how to do it Senior does not consult with others Usually used when there are constraints on time or resources Senior must take care not to demean subordinates!

6 Delegative Leadership Style Used when assigning a task to a specific individual Decision making authority is granted to the subordinate Responsibility for the outcome still rests with the leader who assigned the project Example – The head football coach who lets his quarterback call the plays

7 Participative Leadership Style Leader uses the advice and ideas of others Allows leader to see wider spectrum of ideas Allows the leader to see a wider spectrum of idea Used when time is plentiful Participative Leadership is best for overall morale of the unit
