Exploravision Project What exactly does it involve? What do we have to turn in? What if we are / aren’t planning on entering the national competition?

Project Overview 1.Each team selects a technology (or an aspect of a technology) that is present in and relevant to their lives – Look at the tools and technologies people use every day — it could be as simple as a pencil or as complex as a quantum computer 2.First, the team explores what the technology does, how it works, and how, when and why it was invented

Project Overview (Cont.) 3.Next, the team imagines and explores what that technology could be like 20 years from now – Identify a problem that a current technology does not solve, then imagine possible solutions 4.Finally, each team prepares an in-depth report that conveys its vision to others – (for step-by-step instructions)

Project Report 1.Title Page 2.Abstract 3.Description 4.Bibliography 5.Electronic Presentation / Web Page Graphics – Hard Copies

Project Report Description (Sections) 4.Breakthroughs – Research and describe breakthroughs that are necessary to make the future technology a reality – “Why doesn’t this technology exist today?” 5.Design Process – Three alternative ideas or features that were considered while developing YOUR project – Describe why these ideas/features wer not chosen – A brief description of the design process that the group went through

Project Report Description (Sections) 6.Consequences – Describe potential positive and negative consequences of the new technology on society
