Month of Prayer and Fasting The purpose: To deepen our relationship with God To change our world and break oppression To increase our spirituality To prepare ourselves to go forward

Overall Theme Daniel 11:32 ……the people who know their God shall be strong and carry out great exploits.

Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.

Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

1. LOOK AROUND. How are we being influenced? V1. Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.

The Godly influence V2. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. 1Peter 2:2-3. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.

Romans 12:1-2 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Psalm 119:9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word.

2. LOOK INSIDE. What are we becoming? V3-4 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away.

What does that mean? Fruitful Durable Prosperous Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart O God and renew a steadfast spirit within me

3. LOOK AHEAD. What is your destination? V5-6. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

God knows the whole manner of our lives what directs it and what it produces

Today is the first day of the rest of our lives 1.LOOK AROUND. How are we being influenced? 2. LOOK INSIDE. What are we becoming? 3. LOOK AHEAD. What is our destination?

Sow a thought, and you reap an act; Sow an act, and you reap a habit; Sow a habit, and you reap a character; Sow a character, and you reap a destiny. Daniel 11:32 ……the people who know their God shall be strong and carry out great exploits.
