Some say the world will end in fire, Some say in ice. From what I've tasted of desire I hold with those who favor fire. But if it had to perish twice, I think I know enough of hate To say that for destruction ice Is also great And would suffice.

7. Meaning
There are two ways that the world could end: Fire (desire) and ice (hate). The narrator thinks that it will probably be fire/desire - which can also include lust, greed, ambition, etc - based on his experience. But he also realizes that hate (ice) is very powerful, and could just as easily destroy the world.
