WE ARE TO BE A CHURCH THAT LIVES BY GOD’S STANDARDS
3
Revelation 2:12-17 “To the angel of the church in Pergamum write: I know where you live--where Satan has his throne. Yet you remain true to my name.
4
You did not renounce your faith in me, even in the days of Antipas, my faithful witness, who was put to death in your city- -where Satan lives.
5
Nevertheless, I have a few things against you: You have people there who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to entice the Israelites to
6
sin by eating food sacrificed to idols and by committing sexual immorality. Likewise you also have those who hold to the teaching of the Nicolaitans.
7
Repent therefore! Otherwise, I will soon come to you and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
8
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna.
9
I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it.”
10
“virtually no difference between the two groups”
11
“What America needs is real Christianity, the kind of Christianity that changed the course of history.”
12
How do I decide what is right or wrong? Do I make my decisions based only on what the Bible has to say?
13
What is different about my lifestyle because I am a Christian?
14
Would someone who didn’t know I went to church know I am a Christian by the way I LIVE my life?
15
Begin to understand the importance of drawing close to Jesus.
16
Begin all our decision making times with a long time of prayer really seeking to hear from the Holy Spirit.
17
Go to the Bible and see what it has to say for my specific situation.
18
If you can’t find anything specific on your questions, then ask these questions about it:
19
Will this activity violate my conscience?
20
Will my doing this activity cause weaker Christians to lose their faith or will it set a bad example of Christian behavior for others?
21
Will this activity place me under or around evil influences?
22
Will my doing this activity conflict with my Christian duty?
23
Will my doing this activity arouse in me indecent responses?
24
Is this activity both legal and right?
25
If God has convicted you of something in your life that you need to change, then take the advice of Jesus and repent.
