2 1 John 4:18 “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment (or punishment). But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” “Perfect” here means “mature.”

3 2 Timothy 4:16-17 Paul wrote: “At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them. “But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. Also I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.”

4 Genesis 32:10 Jacob said to God, as he was facing a fearful and possible mortal attack from Esau: “I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies and of all the truth which You have shown Your servant.”

5 Hebrews 2:14-15 “Inasmuch as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death he might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”
