Education Required Increased to minimum of 150 semester hours Laws and practices have become much more complex Constant improvements being made Can get Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree Master’s suggested Accounting and Business related courses 1-2 years CPA supervised experience This leads to the ability to take the CPA test

Possible Pathways to Enter the Profession PATHWAY 1 (EXPIRES DEC. 31, 2013) A bachelor’s degree 24 semester units in accounting-related subjects 24 semester units in business-related subjects Passing the Uniform CPA Exam Passing the Professional Ethics Exam for CPAs Two years of general accounting experience supervised by a CPA with an active license PATHWAY 2 (EXPIRES DEC. 31, 2013) A bachelor’s degree 24 semester units in accounting-related subjects 24 semester units in business-related subjects 150 semester units (or 225 quarter units) of education Passing the Uniform CPA Exam Passing the Professional Ethics Exam for CPAs One year of general accounting experience supervised by a CPA with an active license
