What is a Proverb? (page 35) They take the place of ordinary words. They are carefully crafted with wisdom, moral and philosophical ideals. They emphasize experience & behavior African culture and literature – extensive use of proverbs; evidence or “Orature” or oral literature, which often taught a message.
