1.  A.3.2How Healthcare and Hygiene works.  Healthcare: NKFC Team of Healthcare (the Officer and her Assistant) works with the District Healthcare Centre on the vaccination programmes. NKFC Team trains and educates the group of villagers on Family Planning, introducing different forms of contraception: pills, injection, coils, condoms, calendar, preventive measures against sexually transmitted diseases and Malaria. Regular workshops are set up for basic education on how to prevent and avoid illnesses and diseases, on how to protect children against the growing paedophilia tourism, on how to report and avoid domestic violence in the homes, on the importance of bringing the sick to the District Health Centre or the Hospitals in Siem Reap and for the pregnant women, on taking their pregnancy test available at the District Health Centre and giving birth in the available free hospital in Siem Reap. We distribute clothes for children and adults (donated by UK and a group a ladies knitting for babies in Brittany (www.a.ame.fr), blankets, condoms, impregnated mosquito nets to all villagers (sponsored by NKFC France, 1 net per 3 persons), every year we are re-impregnating the nets and replacing the torn one to the most destitute. A special attention is given to the welfare and the condition of living of the most destitute. NKFC supplies 5 to 7, one meter rings, cement, gravel, iron bars, rope, bucket, participate in the digging and commission an expert to drill a water pipes down to 34 meter, we are also undertaking a company to test the water every 18 months and checking the regular maintenance of the wells. On the Team of Healthcare/Hygiene is passing to the Team of Water Policy/Maintenance the villagers eligible to a latrines, a further workshop is set up: 1. The fence around the well to prevent the animals from coming in. 2. The repair of the thatch roof if it is broken. 3. The lemongrass planting around to prevent mosquito breeding in the stagnant water. 4. The daily use of latrines. (flush the latrines and wash hands before and after) 5. Not to dry up clothes on the fence or on the edge of the well or fence, but on a clothes line. 6. The drink water previously boiled. 7. The good maintenance of the well at all time, removing soap foams and moss. The Team is responsible to carry out the maintenance of all NKFC buildings. They are responsible to report all issues and problems to the Programme Manager. They organizes workshops in the villages for the children and teenagers. Prior to the construction, a contract is made with the Provincial Authority to insure that the following will be available and supplied: the land, the Government contracted required teachers and school Directors to manage and the small maintenance of the buildings.  Healthcare/Hygiene at the school: A weekly workshop in the classes teaches the children to the basic knowledge of hygiene. (to be clean, cutting of the nails, drinking boiled water, using the latrines, washing their hands before eating after the use of the latrines, to help the parents clean the house and to keep the classes and school ground clean and tidy), with the support of the Angkor Hospital (Siem Reap) a regular workshop on oral hygiene is taking place with distribution of toothbrushes and toothpastes. A nutrition programme teaches the children on the importance of a balance diet through eating vegetables and fruits. A first aid box is given to each class.  Agriculture at the school: A weekly workshop is taking place where The Team of Agriculture teaches the children the basic of agriculture in a model vegetable plot to encourage them to have an interest in farming, and to show them how easy it is to produce fresh produce for a healthy diet, this also boost their interest in assisting their parents on their home garden. Each class has 2 rows of vegetables where each child plants their seeds after learning how to make the compost. An incentive price is given to the winning class every month. (a witting book and a pencil).  The Extra Educational Activities in the school: The Team of Education are responsible to collect the weekly roll call for the Programme Manager, they organizes the teachers a class committee where each group is responsible in turn to keep the class and the school ground clean, to water the plants, to assist the teacher, to check that the latrines has water and are clean, they encourages children to understand moral and discipline. The Team organizes their own workshops with the classes in drawing, painting, singing, paper making, sewing, crochet, and sports, outside the school hours.  Education in the villages: Some workshops are set up by the Education Team for the children in the villages for the similar activities taught at the schools.  Support for Vocational Training: NKFC is encouraging the secondary grade students who cannot afford to study further, in enrolling in vocational training. We identified in Siem Reap Sala Bai who is training in 11 months, cooks/chefs, Waiters/waitresses, Housekeepers/Chambermaids and will guarantee a job placement in the top standard hotels in Siem Reap. NKFC will subsidize the students a monthly $30 each to Sala Bai School for the courses, accommodation, and food. Because of the low education that the current group received and the intense competition from students coming from all the other provinces, NKFC will for the next entry coach and prepare them before hand, with Khmer, Math and English lessons for a successful entry.  Literacy classes in the villages: is made available to the majority of illiterate villagers but so far they are too busy trying to secure their livelihood in taking low paid jobs in town or going to the forest to cut burning wood.

4.  A.3.5How the Training Centre is used:  Skills training: NKFC is providing teachers for various skills training to both young and adults which will enable them to earn a living through micro credit activities.(reflexology, basket and matt weaving, needlework, crochet, sewing and dressmaking).  Agriculture: We have a vegetable plot to demonstrate to the families for their home consumption the compost making and the techniques of planting and marketing for selling the surplus of their harvest, we multiply the seeds that will be distributed to the villagers. There is have a pig and chicken shed for animal education and a fish pond to grow the baby fishes to be distributed after the fish farming workshop.  Healthcare: The Team organizes vaccination campaign and mosquito nets impregnation there.  The Dance School:.(Sponsored by NKFC France with the buildings of the halls and a bathroom). In May 2007 NKFC invited the children from all the 32 villages of the Banteay Srei district to apply for selection to the Dance School. 540 potential students came for the selection but the distance and the lack of transport forced many to abandon their eagerness in joining the dance School. 151 were selected and students are retained from the poorest background of the District: 92 for the Traditional Dance and 59 for the Classical Dance. Another wave of students, are in process of being selected. The classes are divided into morning to accommodate the students who are at school in the afternoon and vice versa. (The schools in Cambodia are either in the morning or the afternoon). We are removing students who are not attending the primary and secondary schools as to become professional dancers, they have to reach the six grade. The classes are: in the morning 7:30am to 10:30 am and in the afternoon 1:00pm to 4:30pm.

5.  How does Management works: Under the lead and supervision of NKFC Trustees, especially the Founder Chairman, Mrs. Karet-Coxen and the Field Program Adviser, Mr. Paul Matthews, the local Program Manager, The Program manager is responsible to monitor the day-to-day activities on the ground to strengthen our programmes with the mutual understanding of the local authorities in the targeted villages.  The Programme Manager with the Agriculture, Healthcare/Hygiene, Water Policy and Education Officers are linking and working in partnership with the local Government and others International Organizations in Siem Reap Province.  He is responsible to send to us the weekly report and weekly task based on the Yearly 2009 Programme Plan, all the Quarterly Reports as they have to be approved before hand by UK and then to deliver them to the relevant Governmental offices. He is responsible to all funds and cash in hand for the Monthly Expenses, The Extra Programme Monthly Expenses, the Dance Programme Monthly Expenses. He has to file all the documents with the help of each relevant Programme Officer. He has to project and plan with all NKFC staff after consultation with the Authorities and the villagers, the Yearly Programme and the budget for the different Programmes in order to be submitted to NKFC Board of Trustees for approval by the end of each year. All the staffs are insured by NKFC with accident coverage.
