Every 7 years = Sabbath Year Every 7 Sabbath Years (49 years) –JUBILEE

2 Sabbath Day Once every 7 days = Sabbath Day
Deu 5:12 'Observe the sabbath day to keep it holy, as the LORD your God commanded you. Deu 5:13 'Six days you shall labor and do all your work, Deu 5:14 but the seventh day is a sabbath of the LORD your God; in it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter or your male servant or your female servant or your ox or your donkey or any of your cattle or your sojourner who stays with you, so that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you. Deu 5:15 'You shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God brought you out of there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm; therefore the LORD your God commanded you to observe the sabbath day. YOU ARE NO LONGER A SLAVE TO EGYPT – WHY THEN BE NOW A SLAVE TO PRIDE, GREED OR FEAR

4 Sabbath Year Every 7 years = Sabbath Year
Lev 25:3 'Six years you shall sow your field, and six years you shall prune your vineyard and gather in its crop, Lev 25:4 but during the seventh year the land shall have a sabbath rest, a sabbath to the LORD; you shall not sow your field nor prune your vineyard. Lev 25:5 'Your harvest's aftergrowth you shall not reap, and your grapes of untrimmed vines you shall not gather; the land shall have a sabbatical year. Lev 25:6 'All of you shall have the sabbath products of the land for food; yourself, and your male and female slaves, and your hired man and your foreign resident, those who live as aliens with you. Lev 25:7 'Even your cattle and the animals that are in your land shall have all its crops to eat.

5 Jubilee – the 7th Sabbath Year
Lev 25:8 'You are also to count off seven sabbaths of years for yourself, seven times seven years, so that you have the time of the seven sabbaths of years, namely, forty-nine years. Lev 25:9 'You shall then sound a ram's horn abroad on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the day of atonement you shall sound a horn all through your land. Lev 25:10 'You shall thus consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim a release through the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you, and each of you shall return to his own property, and each of you shall return to his family. Lev 25:11 'You shall have the fiftieth year as a jubilee; you shall not sow, nor reap its aftergrowth, nor gather in from its untrimmed vines. Lev 25:12 'For it is a jubilee; it shall be holy to you. You shall eat its crops out of the field. Lev 25:13 'On this year of jubilee each of you shall return to his own property.

6 Striving or trusting, grabbing and clutching or resting and rejoicing
Striving or trusting, grabbing and clutching or resting and rejoicing. What does it profit a man if he should gain the whole world but lose his soul. Every body had enough, Everybody had a place to live, lumber to build, farm lands to cultivate, wells for water. Everybody had plenty to celebrate and enjoy. But who cares, no big deal…..I WANT MORE…… was it status, was it insecurity, was it greed, was it pride, was it power lust. One or all – but it was sin. There was a 490 year period in Israels history that they never honored the Sabbath Rests – or the Jubilee’s. Workaholic’s or greed aholic’s. Or have we lost they joy of living, have we sacrificed the priceless so many times along the way that now we don’t know how to enjoy the beauty of the Lord, we don’t see the sunsets, the flowers, the tree’s anymore, we don’t feel his lovingkindness in a great meal or a soft breeze or the laughter of a child. Have we sacrificed the greatest earthly treasures that God has given us, our family and friends. Are we now unable to celebrate the miracle of love and life. Has striving, stressing and bitterness stolen too much from you. Is greed good – it is the force behind the American Economic Machine. The misery within our nation doesn’t make sense. The divorce, the drug abuse, the anger, - it’s not adding up. It is no coincidence that the first recorded miracle in the life of Christ Jesus is the miracle of the restoration of joy, the restoration of celebration, the restoration of a marriage, the restoration of a family.
