1 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Galatians 6:9 August 28, 2011 Rev. David B. Hanson Deaf Liberty Baptist Church Overland Park, Kansas

2 Principle of Sowing and Reaping  Galatians 6:7-8  7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

3 Consequence: Corruption or Life Everlasting  Galatians 6:7-8  8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

4 Are You Getting Tired of Doing Good?  Are you tired of reading the Bible?  Are you tired of praying?  Are you tired of learning God’s Word?  Are you tired of obeying God?  Are you tired of sharing the Gospel?  Are you tired of going to church?  Are you tired of helping people?

5 The Temptation of Jesus  Matthew 4:3-4  3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.  4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

6 The Temptation of Jesus  Money  Complain about small personal income  Want to have easy work to get money  Want to spend money for pleasure

7 The Temptation of Jesus  Matthew 4:6-7  6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.  7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

9 The Temptation of Jesus  Matthew 4:9-10  9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.  10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

11 The Temptation to Become Weary in Well Doing  Burnout  A lack of results  A tremendously satisfying feeling of accomplishment

12 The Temptation to Become Weary in Well Doing  Burnout  Working along side others who lack meaningful motivation and commitment  Waiting for everyone to share the same level of commitment to the task we possess

13 The Temptation to Become Weary in Well Doing  Burnout  Rejection  Hoping to have people to support your idea or suggestion or work
