Psalm 84 1 How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord Almighty! 2 My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. 3 Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young – a place near your altar, O Lord Almighty, my King and my God. 4 Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you. Psalm 84 10 Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked. 11 For the Lord God is a sun and a shield; the Lord bestows favour and honour; no good thing does He withhold from those whose walk I blameless. 12 O Lord Almighty, blessed is the man who trusts in You.

Psalm 139 (David) 1 O Lord, you have searched me and you know me. 2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. 3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. 4 Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord.

Psalm 139 7 Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? 8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. 9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, 10 even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. 11 If I say “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” 12 even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. Psalm 139 13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, 16 your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

Psalm 139 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. 17 How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! 18 Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake I am still with you. 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24 See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. He’s got the whole world in His hand

Psalm 145 (David) 1 I will exalt you my God and King; I will praise your name for ever and ever. 2 Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever. 3 Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no-one can fathom. 4 One generation will commend your acts to another; they will tell of your mighty acts.

Psalm 145 Senior generation (60 plus) 8 The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. 9 The Lord is good to all; He has compassion on all He has made. Middle generation (30-60) 13 The Lord is faithful to all His promises and loving towards all He has made. 14 The Lord upholds all those who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down.

Psalm 145 Younger generation (under 30) 17 The Lord is righteous in all his ways and loving to all He has made. 18 The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth. 19 He fulfils the desires of those who fear Him; He hears their cry and saves them. Everyone 21 My mouth will speak in praise of the Lord. Let every creature praise His holy name for ever and ever. Father God, I wonder

Prayer of Confession (Psalm 131) 1 My heart is not proud, O Lord, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me. 2 But I have stilled and quietened my soul; like a weaned child with its mother, like a weaned child is my soul within me. 3 O Israel, put your hope in the Lord both now and for evermore.
