Metamorphic A metamorphic rock is made when great heat and pressure turn one rock into another type of rock The rocks do not melt, or they would be turned into igneous rock Some types of metamorphic rocks are: gneiss, slate, quartzite, marble, schist Metamorphic rocks look like there is toothpaste in the middle
