Electromagnetic Spectrum
5
What is microwave? Microwave is electromagnetic wave with a wavelength between 1 mm - 1 m. Microwave moves at the speed of light, which is 300,000 kilometers per second through empty space
6
The frequency of microwave is between 300 MHz (0.3 GHz) up to 300GHz. Microwave including wave with the super high frequency (Super High Frequency, SHF).
7
The Formula Description : d = Distance (m) c = Velocity Of Wave ( 3 x 10 8 m/s) ∆t = The difference in time (s)
8
The Inventors of Microwave In the 15 th years old, James Clerk Maxwell was able to present scientific paper work. Maxwell considered the greatest the teoritical physics in the entire period between Newton and Einstein. Maxwel is a scientist who has been tracing the link between symptoms of electricity and magnecity based on the knowledge that already exists at the time
9
In 1864, he proved that electromagnetic waves are a combination of oscillating electric and magnetic fields. Maxwell found that light is a form of electromagnetic radiation. He also opened the understanding of the motion of the gas, by showing that the rate of the molecules in the gas depends on the temperature, respectively.
10
In 1888, Heinrich Hertz was the first to demonstrate the existence of radio waves by building a spark grap radio transmitter that produced microwaves with frequency 450 MHz In 1894 Jagdish Chandra Bose showed radio control of a bell using wavelength and research microwave propagation
11
Albert Walace Hull invented magnetron as transmitter of electromagnetic wave
12
Aplication in Daily Life
13
Microwave Oven Stirer A component which designed to arrow the microwave to food chamber Electric energy is changed to be microwave radiation A component which its function is to spread microwave in food chamber
14
A microwave Oven is a household appliance that is highly efficient and energy saving. The working principle of Oven micowave : Magnetron in the oven produces microwaves with a frequency of 2.45 GHz Microwaves from the magnetron is directed into a waveguide Waveguide forward microwaves to a device resembling a fan called Stirrer. Stirrer spread microwaves inside the oven. Microwaves are then reflected on the walls of the oven and are absorbed by the molecules of food molecules. Microwave can make the water spins, the water molecules leads to a collision between molecules. Collisions between molecules is what causes the molecules to heat up the molecule.
15
The microwave radiation of microwave oven and some radar applications is produced by a device called a magnetron
16
Conclusion Microwaves including waves with the super high frequency (Super High Frequency, SHF) This wave is very beneficial for human life in various fields especially in the field of communication
