FACTS NAHA HAS 1083 PUBLIC HOUSING UNITS
101 ELDERLY ONLY AGE HOUSING UNITS 408 SECTION 8 VOUCHERS 200 VOUCHERS ARE DESIGNATED FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES.

HISTORY THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF NEW ALBANY WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1937, TO MEET THE NEEDS OF FLOOD VICTIMS IN OUR COMMUNITY. VALLEY VIEW COURT WAS THE FIRST HOMES DEVELOPED IN NEW ALBANY FOR DISPLACED PERSONS.

VALLEY VIEW COURT VALLEY VIEW WAS THE FIRST PUBLIC HOUSING PROPERTY BUILT IN NEW ALBANY. VALLEY VIEW COURT CONSISTS OF 40 PROJECT BASED SECTION 8 HOMES, OWNED BY THE NEW ALBANY HOUSING AUTHORITY.

OPERATIONS NAHA OWNS AND MAINTAIN ALL STREETS, SEWERS, WATER, AND GAS LINES ON NAHA PROPERTY. NAHA EMPLOYS 56 PEOPLE. NAHA PROVIDES 90% OF THE MAINTENANCE TO ALL NAHA HOMES. NAHA HAS SEVERAL NATIONAL CERTIFIED HOUSING INSPECTORS.

PUBLIC HOUSING NAHA HAS 2173 RESIDENTS. (06/29/12)
AGES NEWBORN TO 100 YEARS. 45.8% OUR RESIDENTS (997) ARE YEARS OLD. (06/29/12) NAHA RESIDENTS LIVE LESS THAN 4 YEARS ON NAHA SITES. NAHA HOUSING SITES ARE 99.4% FULL ALL RESIDENTS CHOOSE A FLAT RENT OR A RENT BASED ON 30% OF THEIR INCOME.

RENTAL RATES MINIMUM RENT $50 PER MONTH
30% OF ALL HOUSEHOLD INCOME AND A ELECTRIC ALLOWANCE IS APPLIED TO REDUCE NAHA RESIDENTS RENT. THE AVERAGE RENT PAID BY NAHA RESIDENTS IS $ PER MONTH.

RENTAL EXPENSE NAHA RESIDENTS PAY FOR THEIR PERSONAL ELECTRICITY,EXCEPT IN HIGH-RISE HOMES. NATURAL GAS,WATER, SEWER, STORMWATER, AND GARBAGE PICK-UP FEES ARE PAID BY NAHA.

RESIDENT CONTRIBUTION
RESIDENTS PAY $1,860, IN RENTAL PAYMENTS TO THE NEW ALBANY HOUSING AUTHORITY ANNUALLY. RESIDENTS PAYMENT OF RENT IS OVER 95%.
