HP Restricted: Internal and Channel Partner Use Only The Story © Copyright 2012 Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P. The information contained herein is subject to change without notice. 3 Why HP Won Business Drivers Precision responded to the customer’s RFP and worked with HP to propose a high-availability server configuration that maximized scalability and economy Precision knocked out other vendors who proposed 2- and 4-socket servers in active/active clusters that utilized Oracle Database 11g by proposing the 8-socket ProLiant DL980 G7 servers in an active/passive configuration running Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and Microsoft SQL Server database The HP solution provided Paladion with the performance needed in a single server, reducing the cost of high availability, while enabling greater scalability than the 2- and 4-socket servers could support Customer Paladion is a global provider of information security solutions with 700 customers in 30 countries across Asia, U.S., and Europe. Leveraging its industry knowledge, security expertise, and innovative technologies, Paladion’s solutions encompass security assurance, compliance, governance, monitoring, and management to actively mitigate risks on a 24/7 basis. Paladion needed an application and database infrastructure to support 75 million users and 20 million transactions per day for a major client The company needed scalability to handle up to seven times greater load increases over the next three years Paladion required high availability and disaster recovery to prevent downtime, which would be extremely costly to its bottom line and reputation
