Accommodations Strategies, human supports or equipment that allows a student to understand the curriculum or demonstrate their learning Accommodations do not alter provincial curriculum. All accommodations documented in the IEP must be made readily available to the student.

Instructional: mind maps, assistive technology, duplicated notes Environmental: quiet setting, strategic seating, special lighting Assessment: extended time limits, alternate work space, scribing

Modifications Changes made to the grade level expectations of a course in order to meet the student’s learning needs Changing the number or the complexity of current grade level expectations (Not Language/Math) If modifications are made to a course, a ‘Program Page’ must be created for that student’s IEP
