2 27. června 20122 PASSIVE Form: TO BE + PAST PARTICIPLE of the main verb Changing from the active sentence into the passive: The object of the active sentence becomes the subject in the passive sentence e.g. active: I tidy my flat every week. passive: My flat is tidied every week.

3 The subject of the active sentence becomes the agent, and is either omitted or introduced with the preposition by. e.g. I tidy my flat every week. My flat is tidied every week. e.g. My husband tidies our flat every week. Our flat is tidied by my husband every week. 27. června 20123

4 Passive in various forms Present Simple The company employs three hundred people. Three hundred people are employed by the company. Present Continuous She is cleaning her flat at the moment. Her flat is being cleaned at the moment. 27. června 20124

5 Past Simple She cleaned her flat yesterday. Her flat was cleaned yesterday. Past Continuous She was cleaning her flat when we arrived. Her flat was being cleaned when we arrived. Present Perfect Simple I have just prepared my dinner. My dinner has just been prepared. 27. června 20125

6 Past Perfect Simple He had written the reports. The reports had been written. Will He will write the reports. The reports will be written. Future Perfect Simple He will have finished the reports by midnight. The reports will have been finished by midnight. 27. června 20126
