WHAT IS A GOAL? A goal is something you aim for that takes planning and work.

Why should I have goals? People who identify and work at achieving goals feel more satisfaction with themselves and with their lives.

How many goals should I have? Goals are best kept few in number. One or two goals per year are adequate.

When goals are set within your area of control, you can be accountable for: Implementing the plan, Meeting the agreed standards, and achieving the goal.

TEACHER PAGE OBJECTIVES: 1. Define the term “Goal”. 2. Understand the purpose of goals in everyday life. 3.Understand the characteristics of well-formed goals. ACTIVITY: 1. The students will be required to use their journals. 2.They will apply basic problem-solving skills. PROCESS: 1. The teacher will click through twenty-six slides. 2. Each slide is self explanatory, but the teacher should preview the lesson prior to presentation. RELATED ACTIVITY: 1. The class could set two goals using the information given in this unit.
