COURSES CATERING CHILD DEVELOPMENT HOSPITALITY & CATERING

Catering Pupils who enjoy cooking should take this course as practical is an essential part of the course. You will cook every week. This course is not just for those who want to be chefs but anyone who just enjoys cooking. You will also be able to complete the Basic Food Hygiene Certificate

Hospitality & Catering This course is equal to 4 GCSE’s A-C grade. It will be offered over 2 option columns and you will have 5 lessons a week. This course is for anyone who enjoys doing a lot of cooking. It is particularly useful for anyone who wants to work in the Catering Industry

ASSESSMENT Projects are marked in school then sent to be marked externally. 3 Projects for Catering. 6 Projects for Hospitality & Catering There is no final exam

Child Development The main areas of study Social Background & Development Food & Health Physical Development Intellectual Development You will learn all about young children from birth to 5 years old.

ASSESSMENT How you will be assessed: 30% Board Prescribed Task 40% Child Study 30% Written Test

You will need to go to a school or nursery as work experience is essential for this course.

Child Development This is a worthwhile and satisfying course for everyone, however, it is very useful for those who would like to work with children as maybe a Teacher, Nursery Nurse or a Children's Nurse.
