Minutes of the last AGM Minutes Matters arising

Treasurer’s Report : Richard Beeton Accounts have been submitted for period 1 Jan 10 to 31 Dec 10 as per head office requirements. 2010 Annual Dinner produced a cash deficit of £1262. Most Teesside Members Group and ECP meeting events were financially supported. Branch venue costs were less than budgeted due to relocation to Teesside University. 2010 deficit to reserves was (£2,448), better than the budget figure. 2011 annual budget was set to produce a deficit to reserves of (£3,460). All income and expenditure is now categorised by Essential, Core and Supplementary activities.

Early career panel report: Andrea Seedhouse An active group well integrated with the Main Committee Helping to organise the technical talk programme Social Events – June 2010 – Clay Pigeon Shooting October 2009 – New Graduate Event in Yarm April 2011 – Brewery Tour Teesside University Undergraduates attending ECP events Chem. Eng. Society actively promoting Teesside IChemE events

Teesside members group chairman’s report : Janet Skinner 2010/11 An active and successful year Technical talks – very successful – interesting series of talks – attendance ranging from 15 to 33 Annual dinner – very successful, xxx guests Annual quiz – well received Site visit – Ensus Bioethanol Plant Early careers panel – very active group Expanding committee involving university representation Research event for young researchers held at Teesside University Membership development events held

Looking ahead Stated aims for 2010/2011 We would welcome new ideas and members to the committee We hope to further develop liaison activities with local universities, subject groups and other institutes active in the region 2010/11 Continue with current programmes of events (technical, dinner, quiz, site visit, ECP, STEM, membership Greater liaison with subject groups and other institutes active in the region Hold a research event for young researchers
