How to Face the New Year Ecclesiastes 1:9; Revelation 21:5 We'd like to keep hope alive that somehow the new year will be new, better and different. There is a possibility for true change for those who trust in God. What have we done with our lives? Have we made the time count? How ever much things change, they remain basically the same. We tend to make the same mistakes, follow the same routine, regardless of circumstances. Let's look at the new year in terms of God making things new. Jesus came to this earth to make a difference in your life. He came to give us life to the full. John 10:10. The difference in joy and misery is not the size of the bank account, but in the attitude of the heart toward God. The real need is for a new you. 2 Corinthians 5:17. As you consider the new year, the real question is not your circumstances, but the condition of your spiritual health and the degree of your intimacy with God. When you are changed, you change your environment. Only a new heart, a new commitment to Christ can make that change. Resolved: In 2012 I will begin the year by giving myself more completely to God than I have ever done in the past.
