Parts of Speech – Nouns (Obj. 6.01) A noun is a word that names a person, place or thing (ex. man, city, book, courage. Nouns often follow words like a, an, and the. Instructions: Read each sentence, write the sentence number and all the nouns in each sentence. 1. The teacher told the student that a person should always be loyal. 2. People with perseverance will be successful in life. 3. I bought a new pen at the drugstore across the street. 4. The man said to the policeman that he had not seen the accident.

Graphic Aids Seeing is believing…. ◦A graphic can be a: symbol, diagram, chart, map, illustration, photograph, timeline, etc. ◦They are designed to get the readers attention

Graphic Aids When pictures/graphics or illustrations are used in an article, we somehow seem to understand the text better. Authors mention graphic aids at a point in which they think the graph will help the reader.

Graphic Aids Provide visual explanations of concepts and relationships. Easier to understand than words alone. Enables students to grasp and recall information easily.
