2 Online Module Enrolment 2014 You will be able to choose your Optional modules for the entire period when the system is open; Year 3 and above: Tues 13 May 2014 (12 noon) - Fri 15 Aug 2014 (midnight) Year 2 and above: Wed 14 May 2014 (12 noon) - Fri 15 Aug 2014 (midnight) Elective modules will only be available to choose during the period Tuesday 8 July 2014 (12 noon) to 15 August 2014 (midnight) Enables you to choose your optional and elective modules for 2014/15 via the web (on or off campus) All returning undergraduate students should be able to use the system from May to August 2014 to submit their module choices

3 Log in to the System ● Using Internet Explorer (or other browser), log in to the Student Portal at: http://portal.leeds.ac.uk using your ISS username and password. ● Click on the ‘Student Services & Admin’ tab along the top of the main page ● Click on ‘Log me into Students Services’ and select the ‘Modules/Timetable’ tab along the top of the page. ● Follow the links to ‘Module Enrolment’

4 Programme of Study Details ● Check that your programme details are correct. If they are incorrect, or if you are thinking of changing your programme, please contact your parent school prior to continuing with your enrolment. ● The enrolment process is split into 5 easy-to-follow steps. To complete your module enrolment, visit each step of the enrolment checklist. Student Name Important 2014/2015

5 Step 1 View Compulsory Modules Your compulsory modules, for which you will have already been enrolled for, will be displayed in Step 1. The system will not allow you to alter these modules. Check your compulsory modules before proceeding to the next step. 13 May 2014

6 Step 2 Check Timetable When choosing optional and elective modules you need to ensure that they won't clash with your compulsory modules. Your personal timetable will contain compulsory module information by the time module enrolment opens; please check your personal timetable and compare it with the timetable for the module you are interested in. You can check both your personal timetable for semesters 1 and 2 and the individual module timetables by following the links provided on the enrolment page. Your timetable will be updated to include any newly enrolled modules by 5pm on the next working day.

7 Step 3 Choose Optional Modules To add Optional module(s), check the appropriate ‘Enrol’ box(es) and submit your choices by clicking ‘Submit Changes.’ Please note that you will not be able to enrol on more modules than required.

8 Step 3 Choose Optional Modules (Contd) To drop Optional module(s), check the appropriate ‘Drop’ box(es) and submit your choices by clicking ‘Submit Changes’. Candidates will be required to study 40 credits from the following list of optional modules 15 May 2014

9 Step 3 Choose Optional Modules (Contd) If you enrol on an Optional module with associated pre- and/or co- requisite(s), you will be required to confirm that you meet the requirements for the module(s) as specified in its catalogue entry. If you do not meet the number of Optional credits required, as specified for your programme of study, you will be required to review your module choice.

10 Step 4 Choose Elective Modules To add Elective module(s), first search for the module(s) by clicking ‘Look- up Electives’. Please note that elective modules will not be available until 12 noon on Tuesday 8 July 2014. To avoid clashes, you are advised to check the timetable for Compulsory and Optional modules before choosing Electives. Look-up Electives

11 Step 4 Choose Elective Modules (Contd) If you know the exact code for the module you wish to enrol on, choose the Subject from the Subject drop down list below and enter the Module Number. Select Module Search. Alternatively, search for Electives modules by selecting Subject(s) of interest in the Subject Area Grid below. Refine your search using the additional search criteria.

12 Step 4 Choose Elective Modules (Contd) To enrol on Elective module(s), check the box(es) alongside the module(s) you wish to enrol on and then click ‘Submit’.

14 Step 4 Choose Elective Modules (Contd) If you enrol on an Elective module with associated pre- and/or co- requisite(s), you will be required to confirm that you meet the requirements for the module(s) as specified in its catalogue entry. If you do not meet the number of Elective credits required, as specified for your programme of study, you will also be required to review your module choice.

15 Step 5 View and confirm Module Choice ● The final step of the process allows you to view a summary of your module choices. Print this summary as confirmation of modules you have enrolled on. ● You must check that your credits are fairly evenly balanced across semesters. ● Please read carefully the messages highlighted in red. At this stage, you will be able to return to previous steps to amend your module choice before confirming that the modules you have chosen are the ones you wish to study during session 2014/15. ● Once you have confirmed your module choice, an automatic email will be sent to you as confirmation of module enrolment and will list the modules you have chosen at that time.
