5.  Dictionary Definition:  Noun: A nonmilitary facility, where soldiers are lodged temporarily.  A thick piece of wood.  Verb: Lodge (soldiers) in a particular place, esp. a civilian's house or other nonmilitary facility.  Your Better Sentence:  During the attacks, the soldiers were billeted at our local community center.
