6 Intel ISEF Educator Academy Intel ® Education Programs This is your working document What do you want to accomplish- An alignment of science fairs across the country to get the best talent to represent Team India at Intel® ISEF Train teachers on enquiry based learning (Intel® Educate Future Scientist) with a focus on research and innovation in science at school level Ensure Capacity building and scaffolding of teachers to ensure EBL is carried into the teaching learning in classroom Pave the way for curriculum and assessment adjustments, ICT integration, policy reforms, professional development and research and evaluation to bring about education transformation in STEM in synch with school reforms in school Who is going to do what-1. DST – Identification of opportunities to tie up with more state science fairs, Look at international opportunities for IRIS participants, Create an Innovation fellowship to get IRIS applicants get access to premium research labs CBSE – to look to integration of Inquiry based teaching and learning leading to maximum out reach and student participation in research based science fairs students. Look at long-term (3-5 years) and short-term goals (1-2 years) –Long term goals –Implement science inquiry in secondary schools – through CBSE making this a part of the regular curriculum to be converted into practical handbooks and guidelines –Institutionalize management of science fairs and science programs for primary and secondary schools – Look to alignment with existing fairs through DST and CBSE for participation of winners in IRIS and then ISEF Science Exhibition at regional national levels –Increase the number of students participating in science fairs by XX% within X years Increase the number of students being impacted and influenced into participation by 70% within the next 2 years –Short term goals –Establish a bank of mentors to assist students- –have a ready reference for group of mentors and research facilities for all states in INDIA 8
