Support for parents who are leaving NI with their child for surgery Getting them prepared for what they may find in other centres Helping getting families financial assistance Communicating admission dates for families and consultants Co- ordinating travel and accommodation

The easiest way I can explain my role to talk about a casestudy.

o The Baby was born in Royal Maternity on 14 th August,2013 o He was born with Hypo-plastic Left Heart Syndrome o He was only 2 days old when he was transferred to Birmingham Children's Hospital

Provided Information pack about Birmingham Children’s Hospital Flights (so as parents didn’t have any upfront costs) Accommodation (so as parents didn’t have any upfront costs) Text messages Phone calls to check that accommodation was ok and they were ok Arranging transfer back to BELFAST

o Updating information booklets which, Sarah has been helping with o Providing a tablet which I am developing informal presentation of other hospital to show parents o I would value any input parent have that were both positive and negative about experiences they have had o Booking flight and accommodation
