2015 North Star Lip Sync Performance Grades K-2 Event ~ Tuesday May 12th Grades 3-5 Event ~ Tuesday May 19 th Performances start at 5pm. To enter the NSE Lip Sync Performance the following items MUST be submitted in an envelope addressed North Star Lip Sync: A permission slip filled out BY PARENTS ONLY and signed for each participant. One copy of the song lyrics One copy of the music on CD (2-2 1/2 minutes) No Entries will be accepted after April 24 th Absolutely NO exceptions!!!! Any questions, please contact Michelle Leone at rmleone90@verizon. net We will only accept groups that have all permission slips together with music and lyrics – NO EXCEPTIONS THIS YEAR!! If paperwork is not together, it will be get sent back home!!! This year will focus on performance only. Each participant will get a trophy for participating and there will be outside judges who will pick their favorites depending on number of entries. NO place or individual awards will be given out.

Be original and creative. Your performance should be fun to watch. P ERFORMANCE : Lip Sync:Mouth the words so that you look like you are really singing the song. Choreography:Move around the stage or if you stay in one place use motion. Costume:You should look the part of the singer. Wear appropriate clothing. M USIC : The songs must be appropriate for ages K to 5 th grade. Make sure songs are G- rated. The song will be rejected, if not appropriate Song lyrics must be handed (typed or printed neatly) in with the entry form The song length is 2-2 1/2 minutes. Your song will fade out at that time. You will need to hand in a CD of the music with the entry form. Make sure that it can be played on a stereo system not just a computer. Keep a copy of your song so you have it to practice. Your CD will not be returned. P ROPS : Small Props may be used on the stage. The performer must be able to handle their own props. NO parents will be allowed backstage. Props cannot be electric. No fog machines, lights, etc. Props cannot be any type of wet or slippery substance that will make the stage dangerous for acts that follow you. Nothing can be thrown into the audience – no candy, streamers, glitter, etc (NOTHING) No play guns, knives or any other type of weapons. Unapproved props are subject to removal prior to performance, if deemed inappropriate. R EHEARSING : This is your responsibility. There is NO official practice or rehearsal. It is up to you to practice on your own. P ARTICIPATION : You may be in one lip sync. You may perform only at your indicated time slot. All members of your group must attend North Star.
