G.Barber Mice Tracker Integration Jun 10 2006 2 Tracker Integration The integration of the tracker into the Mice experiment is at a very early stage. There was a meeting at Rutherford Lab at the end of May where it was decided that all the drawings would be stored at Ral and a solid model of the experimental hall would be constructed from all of the available component models (with certain reservations, see slide 2). The final details are not, I believe worked out yet but a good start has been made and it will require everyone's cooperation to ensure things are kept up to date.

G.Barber Mice Tracker Integration Jun 10 2006 3 Tracker Integration 2 Reservations It will not be possible to assemble all of the components into one solid model if there is too much detail. This would make the model unmanageable. To overcome this it may be necessary to submit ‘stirred down’ models that depict an outline or space envelope and the only detail is concerned with the way in which it interfaces with its neighbours. It will be necessary to ‘hand over’ the files in a format that can be translated into the master drawing, for example IGES or STEP.

G.Barber Mice Tracker Integration Jun 10 2006 4 Tracker Integration 3 The integration has to include all the services that will be required to operate (and maintain) the detector. Because space is at a premium it will/may also be necessary to follow a set of installation procedure.
