2. Beaten is a book about things that really happen in reality. It’s about a girl named, Paige, and her new boyfriend, Ty. It starts out, as Ty asking out Paige. Paige really likes Ty and thinks he and her will be a great couple, since she is the head cheerleader and he is the running back of the football team. But her best friend, Sadie, doesn’t think so. She thinks Ty is intense and a little tight, but Paige ignores her and keeps dating him. It starts out, as Ty asking out Paige. 3. Next, Paige goes and Ty’s dad; who has a problem with booze or alcohol. When they get Ty’s apartment building, he tells her to wait outside. After waiting outside for about 20 minutes, she decides to go inside and find him herself. When she gets to his apartment, she hears Ty’s dad yelling really mean insults at him. That’s when Paige gets her first look at Ty’s bad side. He opens the door, looks at Paige, and starts yelling at her. Then he sees he has been yelling at her and apologizes, so naturally she forgives him. Next, Paige goes and Ty’s dad; who has a problem with booze or alcohol. 4. After that Ty gets an offer from Teller University, while practicing for the big game against Uniondale, Cougars. Teller is having a party for the football players and if you aren’t there they won’t who you are and probably won’t give you a scholarship. This party is very important to Ty because his dad has no money set aside for college. But when, Ty can’t get a ride he calls Paige, even though she has plans with Sadie. She accepts and blows off Sadie. She doesn’t like this, because she thinks Paige is putting her relationship with Ty ahead of there friendship. Sadie is hurt and angry. 

5. That Monday, Paige goes up to Ty and starts talking to him. But Ty is not in the mood for talking, but she keeps trying to get him to talk or at least smile. That’s when something bad happens. Ty swings back his arm and slaps Paige. Her feet go out from under her and she falls to the ground, from the force of the impact. Then once again he sees what he has done, apologizes, says it will never happen again, and again she forgives him. That Monday, Paige goes up to Ty and starts talking to him. 6. At the game, Ty plays poorly and at the end of the game, he misses a a pass and loses the for them. While he is in the locker room Paige waits for him. She is hoping Ty will go to the “Better Luck Next Year” party, Ty refuses and takes her home. On the way home Ty gets a text for this girl named, Lara. Lara likes Ty and she thinks that Ty likes her too. And she thinks that Ty is just going to drop her off and go meet Lara at the party. When Ty stops at a red light, Paige gets out of the car and runs away. But Ty with his lighting speed, comes after her- outraged- knocks her down and starts beating her. That’s when a helpful old man, calls the cops- which gets Ty off of Paige.

7. At court, Ty is left off with 500 of community service an 5 years of probation, which means he can not touch, see, nor talk to Paige.

8. After Paige recovers she goes to a counseling group of people that have been abused or have seen it. That’s when Paige decides no man will ever lay a hand on her in anger

9. As you can see Beaten is a very good book and I hope you read it. And remember, this type of thing happens to people all around the world, and not just girls. It could also happen to you, but only if you let it.
