Life Story Born in Andover, Hampshire; 12 th October 1993 Career in modeling Katie met Daniel Lynch (martial arts enthusiast) over Facebook They first met up in Berkshire, being pleased with the way things had turned out After 2 weeks, Katie and Daniel booked a hotel, for after their meal In the hotel room, she was raped, beaten and stabbed in the arm Lynch apologized, and persuaded Katie to go to an internet café, to read an email he’d sent her. Sylvestre approached Katie, immediately throwing Sulphuric Acid over her face Katie was treated at Chelsea and Westminster hospital. The removal of Katie’s skin, and replacement, was the first ever to be carried out in 1 single operation. In 2009 Katie revealed herself to increase awareness She also released a best-selling autobiography, has a column, but mainly works at her charity, Katie Piper Foundation

Katie’s Happiness Some could argue no luck Katie has been successful in the making of her channel 4 programmes Katie Piper’s fans Katie’s happiness is displayed in interviews She often expresses how happy she Katie had a good upbringing Always supported by family and friends Written an auto-biography Kate and her brother as children.

Katie’s Determination Before her ordeal-she was determined in her modeling and television career. Not giving up and trying hard to get jobs. Moved to London to seek jobs Won 6 awards Came out of anonymity Set up her own charity, book, and documentaries Released diary entries “I’m not going to be a victim” Katie: My Beautiful Face was nominated for "Best Single Documentary" at BAFTAS Katie Piper won the 'Courage Award' at the Pride of Andover Awards, October 2010; Katie won the 'Most Inspirational' award, Katie won the "Women to Watch: Inspiration" Katie: My Beautiful Face won the "Best Documentary Programme Katie Piper won the Sainsbury's Women of the Year Award

Operations 110 operations Experienced pioneering stem cell surgery Left eye was blind with no iris After operations she can see well All skin from her face hasd to be removed It was replaced with skin from other body parts Oesophagus, hard for her to eat

Why Katie Piper? Not your typical choice It could be argued: She’s been unlucky She’s will live with the consequences Her life will never be as good as it could’ve been She isn’t as beautiful as before She will never forget her awful ordeal She is scared physically and emotionally She has overcome her ordeal She has turned a bad situation into a good one She has told her story with her head held high She has started a charity for burns victims She is a proven inspiration, winning several awards She has made a huge impact on the burns victim community
