3. Biography Captured- 1799 When Sacajawea was fifteen, she was captured by her enemy tribe, Minnetarees. She was taken away 600 miles away to a village named Minnetaree. One of her friends escaped from being a prisoner. Sacajawea was far from home. When she arrived at the village, a man traded her to a man named Toussaint Charbonneau and she married him a few days later.
