Hezekiah’s Illness and Recovery And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake. 2 Kings 20:6

A.The prophet Isaiah sharply told King Hezekiah in 2 Kings 20:1 saying: “ Thus saith the Lord, set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and no live.” B.Hezekiah’s reaction (v.2-4) Turned toward the wall. Prayed unto the Lord. Beseech thee, O Lord.

Remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart. Have done that which is good in thy sight. Wept sore ( cried loudly). C.God’s reaction (v.5) God told Isaiah to turn again and tell Hezekiah. I (God) heard thy prayer. I have seen thy tears.

D. God’s final acceptance (v.5-6) Behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the Lord. I will add unto thy days fifteen years; I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.

E. Isaiah followed God’s instructions for helping heal Hezekiah’s illness (V.7). Took a lump of figs. Laid the figs on the boil. Healed his illness. F. Figs health benefits accord to the modern research. Prevent cancer. Reduce cholesterol.

H.With God we Christians help others and they learn the physical and spiritual health Matthew 9:35 “And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.”
