7  Consider the argument presented in the above quotation by Nelson Mandela regarding violence and non violence and respond to the author’s validity based off of the reading conducted in this unit. Students can defend (support) the author’s quote, challenge it (argue against its claim), or qualify it (agree with part and disagree with part) students should use all reading and not simply segment their paper into each separate reading- they should practice (after teaching modeling and practice) using evidence from one book to support another piece of evidence in an effort to blend multiple allusion to text within the same paragraph.
