What is energy? Laws of energy. Forms of energy. Sources of energy. Types of energy. Using and saving energy.
3
Energy is the ability to do work. Energy is found everywhere in the world and comes in many forms.
4
“Energy is neither created not destroyed. It changes from one form into another” “ You can´t see energy, you just can see it´s effects or the changes it produces”
5
There are two forms of energy: Potencial energy: the energy stored. Chemical energy as the one in batteries is an example of potential energy. Kinetic energy: Is the energy in motion.Thermal energy and wind energy are some examples of kinetic energy.
6
TThere are two main sources of energy : renewable and non-renewable sources of energy.
7
Renewable energy is the energy that we can reuse over and over again, wind, water, sunlight… Non-renewable energy is the one that is produced from animals and plants remains and it needs million and million of years to replenishes.
8
Types of energy: Electrical energy: is the energy produced by the flow of electric change. Chemical energy: is the energy produced by fossil fuels and biomass. In our bodies, it is the energy produced by the food we eat. Mechanical energy: is the energy produced by things in motion. Thermal energy: is the energy released as heat.
9
Nuclear energy: is the energy found in chemical elements, like uranium and plutonium. Light energy: is the energy found in light, mainly the sunlight.
10
We can save energy: Using efficient electric bulbs. Closing the window when the heater is on. Opening the window when there is sunlight. Closing the tap when we are brushing our teeth. Recycling paper.
