Location The Deciduous Forests are found in the eastern United States, the middle of Europe, eastern Asia, south western Russia, the bottom of South America, and south west AustraliaThe Deciduous Forests are found in the eastern United States, the middle of Europe, eastern Asia, south western Russia, the bottom of South America, and south west Australia

Abiotic Factors The main factors are wind, sunlight, and water. Wind spreads pollen, and knocks off branches, and returns nutrients to the soil. Sunlight is needed for all the plants to survive, and to keep all the animals warm. Water is important, because they rely on it for both drinking water, and to keep plants hydrated.

Plant Adaptations In the spring deciduous trees start making thin, broad, lightweight leaves. They do that so they can capture the sunlight easier for photosynthesis. The trees adapt to the change in climate. What tells the trees to adapt is when there isn’t enough sunlight or when it gets really cold.

Animal Adaptations The animal adjust to their environment by either using migration, or hibernation. Mostly the birds migrate and the mammals hibernate. The animals usually use food storage and collect large amounts of food in caves, or the hollows of trees.

Threats to the Ecosystem Air pollution kills the wildlife and poisons the soil.Air pollution kills the wildlife and poisons the soil. Acid rain has destroyed millions of acres of forest. It destroys leaves and makes the fruit smaller and less seeds.Acid rain has destroyed millions of acres of forest. It destroys leaves and makes the fruit smaller and less seeds. Even a little bit of damage could destroy the trees because it lowers their resistance to frost, fungus, and deadly diseases and pests.Even a little bit of damage could destroy the trees because it lowers their resistance to frost, fungus, and deadly diseases and pests.
