General Tips on Buying shoes Well-cushioned shoes, preferably with laces, buckle, velcro. Leather or nylon mesh uppers (breathable). At least 1 to 1 1/2 thumb widths, allowance from the longest toe (1 st or 2 nd toe). Heel sitting snugly in shoe. Adequate width fitting. Different shoes for different occasion and Different sports. To check the footwear fitting at least twice a a year for youth and annually for grown- ups.
